David is a graduate of James Madison University and Wesley Theological Seminary. His three decades of ministry have included United Methodist congregations at Stanley, Elkton, Mt. Jackson, Dayton, Lynchburg, Verona and Richmond, Virginia—churches ranging in size from 23 to 1,900 members. He has served on various district/conference boards and agencies, and was the recipient of the 2014 Harry Denman Evangelism Award presented by the Virginia Conference. His appointment to Vision of Hope in July, 2006 is now providing him an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of being a part of a new church start.
David’s wife Valerie is a teacher at Clymore Elementary School and they are the parents of two adult children, Allison and Tyler. A native of rural Southside Virginia, David’s passion is to make God’s Word come alive for 21st century people through his unique, down-home, storytelling style of preaching.
