Worship Services
**9:00 am–Relaxed Traditional Worship
Location: Mt. Sinai Chapel
Music: Accompaniment by Cindy Grimes and special music from the VOH Early Bird Choir.
**10:30 am–Decaffeinated Contemporary Worship
Location: Main Worship Center (and Live-streamed on Facebook)
Music: Led by Nathan Jones and the VOH Praise Team with special music from Nathan Jones.
Note: Nursery is available during this service.
This Week’s Message
Pastor Mike will share the message: “Stories that Matter – You Know the Way” grounded in John 14:1–14 / Acts 7:55–60 and Holy Communion will be served at both services.
Learning and Community
Adult Sunday School: 9:50 – 10:25 am (between services).
Ongoing Bible Study led by Pastor Mike–10am on Tuesdays
We are currently collecting children’s clothes, shoes, and diapers for Mission Central, as well as non-perishables for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Drop-offs are at the lower-level entrance! A special offering is taken on the first Sunday of each month for Mercy House. We also support several mission projects at Kingsway–see Louise Jennings for current needs.
We are also collecting items for Cleaning/Disater Buckets to be used by UMCOR and locally–DEADLINE is May 3.

Praise Team at VOH

Music Director – Blended Worship (10:30 a.m.)

Position Title: Music Director – Blended Worship
Church: Vision of Hope United Methodist Church (1723 Port Republic Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22801)
Reports to: Pastor
Compensation: Approximately $10,000 annually (negotiable based on experience)
Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week

Position Summary
The Music Director for the 10:30 a.m. blended worship service provides leadership for congregational music and the praise team. The director leads from keyboard or guitar, selects music for worship, and works with volunteer musicians to support vibrant congregational singing.

Responsibilities.
• Lead music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday blended worship service.
• Play keyboard and/or guitar and provide musical leadership for congregational singing.
• Direct the praise team.
• Lead weekly praise team rehearsal (currently Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.)
• Select music for congregational singing and special music.
• Coordinate with volunteer musicians, including guitar and bass players.
• Provide occasional solos or coordinate special music.
• Plan music in collaboration with the pastor and in keeping with the church season.
• Provide leadership for special services such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter Sunrise.

Preferred Qualifications
• Strong keyboard or guitar skills
• Experience leading praise teams or worship bands
• Familiarity with contemporary Christian worship music
• Ability to recruit and develop volunteer musicians
• Strong organizational and leadership skills

JImmy Overton playing guitarOur MIDWEEK MUSIC N’ MUSINGS happens in The Grove or Basement Bistro Wednesdays at 6:30 pm! Jimmy Overton will share inspirational tunes and Pastor Mike offers uplifting perspectives on faith!  (Bring a lawn chair if we are in the Grove.)

The light meal will begin at 6:15 pm!
